A new front has emerged in Israel's fight against the funding of Iran-backed militant groups, including Hamas and Hezbollah: a fast-growing crypto network called Tron. Tron, which is quicker and cheaper than Bitcoin, has surpassed its larger rival as a platform for crypto transfers associated with groups designated as terror organisations by Israel, the United States, and other countries. This information is based on interviews with seven financial crime experts and blockchain investigations specialists, highlighting Tron's increasing role in facilitating cryptocurrency transactions linked to designated terror organisations.
