TradeStation Crypto Settles $3 Million Unregistered Securities Charges with SEC and States
Feb 9, 2024
Cryptocurrency platform TradeStation Crypto has agreed to pay $3 million to settle charges brought by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and several states regarding the offering and sale of unregistered securities through its interest-earning program. The SEC stated that TradeStation failed to register its crypto lending product, which enabled U.S. investors to deposit or purchase assets on TradeStation's platform in exchange for yield. This product, launched in 2020, was subsequently discontinued in 2022.
