Mirror World CEO on Advancing Solana's GameFi Ecosystem with Sonic SDK and $12M Raise
Jun 20, 2024
Mirror World CEO Chris Zhu discussed the challenges and innovations in developing for Solana's gaming ecosystem, highlighting the launch of their SDK, Sonic, designed to onboard GameFi developers onto the blockchain. Zhu emphasised the need for improved infrastructure on Solana, citing difficulties in integrating decentralised finance features like cross-chain swaps and robust crypto on- and off-ramps. Recently, Mirror World Labs secured $12 million in Series A funding led by Bitkraft, Galaxy Interactive, and others to advance their gaming rollup, Sonic, which supports high-speed transaction settlement and interoperability while leveraging Solana's mainnet liquidity. Zhu underscored the importance of collaborations with Solana validators, particularly Galaxy Interactive, to enhance transaction processing capabilities on Sonic and HyperGrid. Mirror World aims to bolster Solana's gaming capabilities amidst broader growth in decentralised applications and gaming chains like Ronin and Redstone on Ethereum, positioning Sonic as a pivotal SDK for GameFi projects seeking Solana-native development solutions.
