Ledger Launches Secure Touchscreen Wallets: Introducing Flex and Stax with NFC and FIDO2 Integration
Jul 26, 2024
Ledger recently launched its new touchscreen hardware wallet, the Ledger Flex, alongside the previously introduced Ledger Stax. Both devices are equipped with E Ink touchscreens, NFC capabilities, and offer a more intuitive interface while maintaining Ledger's renowned security standards. The CEO, Pascal Gauthier, emphasised that the security of these wallets is ensured through three key components: a secure element chip for private key storage, a secure operating system, and a secure screen powered by the secure element chip, making these the only wallets with such a secure touchscreen .The Ledger Flex and Stax also introduce the Ledger Security Key feature, enabling passwordless and two-factor authentication (2FA) logins across platforms using the open FIDO2 standard, compatible with major services like Google, Amazon, Binance, and Coinbase. The Flex is priced at $249, significantly less than the Stax, which costs $399. Both products are available on the Ledger website and at Best Buy stores in the U.S.
