EigenLayer has bolstered its EigenDA data availability service on the Ethereum mainnet with enhanced security measures to thwart Sybil and distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. The new security feature implements whitelist controls using either IP addresses or Ethereum's ECDSA authentication, ensuring secure access and safeguarding service availability for all clients. EigenDA's free tier supports up to 768 kilobytes per 10-minute window, catering to high-demand rollups on Ethereum with the option for partners to request increased throughput. EigenDA achieves peak throughputs of up to 10 MB per second, supporting diverse applications with synthetic loads. EigenLayer is also developing permissionless payments for bandwidth reservation, slated for release by late 2024.
