This open-source device, priced at $69, is designed to act as a constant companion, recording and transcribing conversations to provide insights and summaries. Unlike other AI wearables focused on productivity, Friend aims to offer emotional support by acting as a virtual friend. The device connects via Bluetooth and can be worn around the neck, featuring a microphone, speaker, and vibration motor for notifications. The project has already gained significant attention, with over 1,000 developers involved​.
