Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has announced plans to introduce VR education services tailored for users aged 13 and older, leveraging its Quest virtual reality headsets. The move comes as Meta aims to expand its enterprise-level offerings to the education sector, with institutions like the University of Glasgow, Stanford University, and New Mexico State already utilizing Quest headsets for educational purposes. The Quest headsets have emerged as the leading extended reality (XR) devices in the market, with an anticipated installed user base of over 34 million units by the end of 2024, marking a significant growth trajectory since 2020. Meta's forthcoming educational product for Quest devices is expected to provide teachers, trainers, and administrators with access to a variety of education-specific apps and features, streamlining device management in classroom and training environments. The product, set to be launched later in the year, will be available in the Quest for Business market, covering territories including Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the United States.
