Identity Battle: UK Judge Demands Proof from Bitcoin Claimant

In an ongoing legal case, a UK judge has ordered Craig Wright, who claims to be Bitcoin's mysterious creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, to provide proof of his identity. This development is part of the lawsuit known as Wright, Wright International & Others v. BTC Core & Others and has the support of the Bitcoin Legal Defense Fund, which assists individuals facing legal action from Wright. The upcoming trial will focus on establishing whether Dr. Craig Wright is indeed Satoshi Nakamoto, addressing the 'identity issue'. As part of this process, the court has mandated that Wright provide physical evidence for 95 documents dating back to 2007, which he alleges are stored on a recently discovered Samsung USB drive. Furthermore, the judge has ordered Wright to pay an additional $992,000 to parties involved in the case, leading to a postponement of the trial's original start date, set for January 15, 2024, by at least a year.
