Bitcoin Laundering Saga: Guilty Verdict in $6B China Fraud Case

Jian Wen, a U.K. citizen, has been found guilty by a London jury of laundering significant amounts of Bitcoin for Zhimin Qian, also known as Yadi Zhang, a Chinese fugitive linked to an alleged $6 billion investment fraud. Jian, who denied the accusations, was involved in laundering the funds between 2017 and 2022. Although acquitted of other money laundering charges in a previous trial, the jury couldn't reach a decision on two additional charges in this case. Police seized over $2.2 billion worth of Bitcoin in connection with the alleged fraud in 2018. Jian Wen's sentencing is scheduled for May 10.
